The clubs first Open show took place on 10th October 1982, at Charfield in Avon. The judge was Mrs Hazel Small (Avenelhouse). The policy of the club at that time was to hold one Primary show and one Open show a year. At the Primary shows the morning was usually occupied with events such as ring craft for beginners, demonstrations of grooming and trimming, question and answer sessions etc. The Primary show then took place in the afternoon and entries were taken on the day. The clubs first Primary show was judged by Mr Trevor Evans (Wyesider). This show was actually the clubs first show as it was held in February 1982 at Broad Clyst, Nr Exeter. The club held its first Championship show at Yate, Nr Bristol on 19th October 1985. The judge for this show was Mrs Bunty Proudlock (Seltirk). The club held its first Limited show on the 17th April 1988, this replaced the clubs Primary show. The judge for this show was Mrs Ann Creane. Today though the club only holds the Open show in January and the Championship show in October.
