South Wales and West of England Cairn Terrier Club Open Show
Sunday 25th January 2009

I thoroughly enjoyed judging this show and thank the committee for their kind invitation to do so. Thanks go to my two able stewards who kept things running nicely and a special thank you to them for giving the exhibitors ample time to change dogs in between classes (I for one know exactly what it is like to running around between classes!)

On examining the dogs, there were a couple of things which I found concerned me, one of which is the mouths. Our standard asks for “Large teeth with a perfect and regular scissor bite - I found quite a number with level bites and some with very small teeth.” Rear movement I also found to be quite alarming in some of the exhibits!

Judge Ms Louise Peers (Tweedisle)

Class 1 Minor Puppy DogReserve Best Dog & Best Puppy In Show
1st. Cloverbrook Ray Of Sunshine to Shearwater. What a start to my day – a showy 7 mth who I found to be nicely constructed this showed in the way that he moved; he kept a nice level topline with good rear drive. He has a gorgeous head, with good stop, and a good mouth. One I will be watching with interest as he grows up. BPD, BPIS and also happy to award him RBD

2nd. Lindcoly Here's Horace NAF.Wheaten; 7 mth old who was a little overawed by the occasion! However, found him to be quite nicely constructed.
